Send poetry/prose in a .doc or .rtf file
Send visual art in .jpg or .bmp files

Please allow time (roughly 4-6 months at most) for us to get back to you. The magazine is volunteer-ran and we have full-time jobs which tend to bog down our response times. On another note, simultaneous submissions are allowed, but please let us know the instant you get accepted elsewhere. We do not accept previously published material. Also, if you can remember, include a short blurb about you in your submission e-mail. Thanks!

_The Monongahela Review is seeking:

• Poetry: Send 3-5 poems. Looking mainly for free verse on various subjects.

• Prose: Fiction or Non-Fiction. 10,000 words maximum. On various subjects. However, we will not accept most genre fiction (specifically science-fiction or fantasy).

• Visual Art: Photography, Drawings, Collages. Must be 300 dpi or larger.

The Monongahela Review wants heartache, it wants romance, it wants death, it wants joy, it wants so many things that it is hard to say exactly what it wants. One thing is sure: the work must be genuine and passionate about its subject matter. Peruse our previous issues to get a complete idea of what we like.
